Another aspect of my work that I feel is relevant to present is my connection to the esoteric arts and related mysticism. Through my experiences and interests I have found a strong connection to the paranormal and the unseen and have been enthralled to study how people and cultures throughout the ages have approached this didactic yet ephemeral range of subjects. I own numerous books on the subject, such as the Vedic Ramayana, Tao Te Ching, The Path of Knowledge by the Hermetic Truth Society (a group who believed art practice to be central to esoteric study and expression), the 'New Berlin' base: Nazis in the Antarctic, The Secret of the Golden Flower and The Urantia Book. My own art practice is enriched by this esoteric, mythological and paranormal literary tradition. This subject also relates to my own Scandinavian heritage and inherent attraction to tales of ancient, untold realms full with peculiar and terrifying creatures. Ultimately this allows my paintings to be concerned with the intimation and visual expression of the unseen and the eternality of the unknowable.

Here is a link to a very useful online essay regarding this mysterious realm of thought and understanding...
